Mbombela SPAR Women’s Challenge,

Time: 08h00 (Be there early to ensure a parking spot)

  • The challenge consists of a 4.9km and 10km walk or run route which begins and ends at Lowveld National Botanical Garden.
  • Entries are limited to 2000 participants.
  • You can enter at a participating SPAR store or online. An admin fee will be applicable for online entries.

  • Pre-entries at SPAR stores will close on 20TH June 2025 at 20h00 and online entries will close on 27 June 2025 at midnight.
  • Entries will still be open at the Lowveld Botanical Gardens from 10th of July – 11th of July 2025 between 10h00 and 17h00, IF ENTRIES HAVE NOT SOLD OUT.
  • NO REFUND WILL BE GIVEN FOR A LOST RACE NUMBER, TILL SLIPS OR CONFIRMATION SLIPS.
  • All entrants must register for either the 10km or 4.9km Challenge. To register scan the unique QR code at the till or on the flyer to complete your details. Don’t forget to include your slip number as reference. (you will be able to select your size while stocks last).
  • When you enter you will receive your Till Slip if you enter in store or a confirmation email if you enter online.
  • Medals are handed out on Challenge Day once you have crossed the finish line.
  • Goodie bags will be handed out on collection day from the 10th and 11th of July 2025 from 10h00 until 17h00. WE DO NOT DO ANY DELIVERIES OF GOODIE BAGS AND YOU DO NOT COLLECT FROM A SPAR STORE.
  • DO NOT COLLECT FROM SPAR STORES IF YOU HAVE ENTERED ONLINE or INSTORE.
  • If you have entered ONLINE OR INSTORE please bring your Till slip, proof of payment, or the SMS you received indicating your race number to collect your SPAR race number, t-shirt and goodie bag at the Lowveld Botanical Gardens from 10th of July – 11th of July 2025 between 10h00 and 17h00.
  • Collection on race day is permitted only from 06h30am until 07h00am. Not earlier or after then the permitted times.
  • Men are allowed to participate in the challenge but will not be eligible for any prizes. They will however receive a goodie bag and medal.
  • No GAS ‘braaiers’ , GLASS, ALCOHOL, COOL DRINK CANS or TINS will be allowed inside the Lowveld Botanical Gardens (PLASTIC ONLY).
  • No selling of any goods will be permitted on Challenge Day.
  • There will be food and beverages for sale on Challenge Day.
  • There will be refreshment points along the challenge route.
  • Medical support facilities will be available.
  • Tog bag facilities will not be available. Participants are encouraged to have a family or friend not participating to safeguard your personal items as we will not be held responsible for them.
  • Time of Prize Giving will be announced.
  • End of day will be approximately at 14h00 on Saturday, 12th of July 2025
  • Results of the 10km challenge will be published on www.results.finishtime.co.za

    Running Clubs & Corporate Bookings

    All running clubs and companies are welcome to join us on Challenge Day. There will be spot prizes for the companies with the most spirit as well as some lucky draws.

    Supervised Kid's Corner

    Free and safe supervision for children aged 3 to 12 Years. Great fun to be had with jumping castles, face painting and various characters. Kids that play at the Botanical Gardens jungle gym will require own parental supervision.

    Vendor Stalls

    Food vendors or exhibitors limited to x15 are welcome to submit a request to book for a stand.

    • All proceeds will go towards the selected charities.

    Medical Assistance

    A medical tent will be set up on the field on Challenge Day, with one qualified doctor and their staff. Emergency medical teams will be posted at the finish line as well as at the water points along the route.

    Ambulances will also be available at the stadium, on the 4.9km route and on the 10km route.

    Should you be injured during the race, please report to the medical tent if possible or alert the nearest security or medical personnel. Physiotherapists will also be on duty in the medical tent providing sport massages to runners free of charge.
